Questions that apply to every Atlas family. Each family's guide has its own FAQ for questions about specific components.

Which Delphi versions and platforms are supported?

Delphi 13 (compiler 37.0), VCL applications on Windows, compiled for Win32 and Win64. FireMonkey and non-Windows targets are not supported. Atlas Log, Atlas Crypto and Atlas MQTT need only the runtime library, so they also work in console programs and Windows services.

Are the Atlas components compatible with other component libraries?

No. The Atlas APIs are original. Class names, properties and events differ from other libraries, and forms saved with other libraries' components do not load into Atlas components. Plan a migration as a rewrite of the affected units.

Do I have to install anything into the IDE?

No. You can add a family's src folder to the search path and compile the units into your program; every sample project works this way. The design packages add the components to the tool palette, but IDE installation has not been validated yet. See Getting started.

Which families depend on each other?

Atlas Analytics, Atlas UI and Atlas Info build on Atlas VCL. Atlas Plot Pro, Atlas Fin and Atlas Virtual Grid build on Atlas Plot. Atlas VCL, Atlas Plot, Atlas Log, Atlas Crypto and Atlas MQTT stand alone. Add every family in the chain to the search path.

Are the components thread safe?

The visual controls and the data models behind them belong to the VCL main thread, like the VCL itself. Atlas Log is thread safe throughout. For the other non-visual classes, check the class's reference page before sharing one object between threads; when it does not say the class is thread safe, use it from one thread.

How are indexes counted?

Row, column, series and item indexes are zero-based unless a page says otherwise. Text offsets reported by the Atlas VCL spell checker are one-based UTF-16 positions, matching Delphi strings.

Where are errors reported?

Invalid arguments raise an exception with a message that names the problem. Atlas VCL's CSV import and JSON loading validate the whole input first and leave the existing content unchanged when it is rejected. Atlas Log is the exception by design: logging never raises into your application, and a failing sink is counted and skipped.

Why do the sample projects have no form files?

The samples create their forms and components in code. That keeps each project small, readable on the website and free of form files that can drift from the code. You can still design forms visually once the packages are installed.

Is any family complete?

No family is claimed to be feature-complete. Each guide describes what works and lists what is not implemented, and each family's test program covers what is described. Manual acceptance, IDE installation and printing on real printers are still outstanding.

How do I report a problem or ask for a feature?

Use the contact page. Include your Delphi version, the target platform (Win32 or Win64), the family and class, and a short program that shows the problem.
