YOUSEFUL / FILEMAKER
Youseful Software branding and upgrades
Effective 2026-09-20, this suite uses Youseful Software as its commercial brand, Youseful in full product names, and Ysfl in file names and FileMaker function prefixes. The product table is the current naming reference.
Upgrade from GF builds
- Replace each
GF<Product>.fmx64withYsfl<Product>.fmx64. Close FileMaker first and move the previous binary outside its Extensions folder; install only one version of each plug-in. - Use
Ysflin place ofGFfor new function calls: for example,GFTx_RegexMatchbecomesYsflTx_RegexMatch. Query's earlierYFSL_prefix becomesYsflQr_. File's current prefix isYsflFi_, including functions formerly documented asYSFL_. - The four-byte SDK plug-in IDs and numeric function IDs are unchanged to preserve FileMaker's stored references. Old function names are not registered as aliases; update text-based calculations and scripts that construct function names. Verify existing solutions in FileMaker after replacing the binaries.
- New Credential Manager entries use
Youseful:<name>and the display userYouseful Software. ExistingGreekFire:<name>entries remain accessible for reads, overwrites and deletes. If both exist, the Youseful entry takes priority. - Runtime configuration uses
YSFL_NODE,YSFL_PYTHONandYSFL_PHP. ExistingGF_NODE,GF_PYTHONandGF_PHPvariables are accepted as fallbacks. Generated host scripts now live in%LOCALAPPDATA%\Youseful\hosts\. - Encryption, compression and printer-setting serialization markers are unchanged so saved data remains readable.
The parent company's copyright notices, internal C helper names and SDK IDs
remain where they describe ownership or compatibility rather than product
branding. Vendor source and licenses are unchanged. Dated designs, plans and
research in docs/superpowers/ and docs/research/ preserve their historical
wording; this document and the current product references supersede their naming.
